A special case of the pathway generated family is computed with the exponential distribution and is called the type-1 pathway generated exponential distribution. The survival, hazard and moment generating function, likelihood ratio ordering, and stress-strength reliability are computed. For the estimation of stress-strength reliability parameter, point and interval estimator are computed using the maximum likelihood, and asymptotic confidence interval and bootstrap methods respectively. To verify the performance of the methods developed, an extensive Monte Carlo simulation study is conducted. The application of the developed results is illustrated on AIDS blood transfusion data.
