Power generation and distribution are vital processes as all loads in today's utilities are energized by the power they provide. So, delivering it efficiently is a challenging and unfulfilled task. Achieving a fully efficient distribution is still an ongoing research process. Various factors are studied and improved with the obtained results. In this paper, the optimal radial distribution network is examined, and according to our results, reconfiguration is done using a hybrid Ant Colony – Ant Lion Optimization Algorithm (HACALOA). Single incoming substation is utilized through a series of step downs and splits to achieve a balanced load. To investigate the competence of the planned method, the IEEE 33-bus system and 35-bus Indian utility system are implemented in real time using MATLAB. An analogy is made to prove the effectiveness of the planned method from the outcomes obtained using various techniques.
