Ethics approval and consent to participate
The study was approved by the Committee for Human Research, Publication and Ethics, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (CHRPE/AP582/17) prior to the commencement of the study in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Administrative Clearance was also obtained from the Kumasi metropolitan Health Directorate (KMHD/INTRO/13). Study protocol was thoroughly explained to the study participants and written informed consent was obtained from them.

Limitation of the study
Respondents might not provide accurate information due to recall bias. Some might have difficulty providing all the information about their sexual activities and even declined to respond to certain questions that may be very essential in the analysis. Only public health facilities were used for the study; therefore, the results might not reflect the status of private facilities.
